In my over 10 years of living with severe Eczema, also known as Atopic Dermatitis. I have had different experiences. I use the “one thing” that has helped me live a normal life like every other person without eczema which I talk about here I have also tried to quit using that “one thing” to try a process which some people have claimed worked for them, which I documented for you readers here. However, that process put me through one of the toughest periods of my entire life and though I know it could work for some people, I chose to quit and go back to what makes me live happily. That said, here eczema remedies that work. Some give temporary relief and others give some long term relief depending on the intensity of your eczema.

I will take the eczema remedies that work list from the most recent I have used to older remedies. I am not marketing for any of these products, I understand the pain of eczema, so this is just free information which I hope helps someone out there.

NOTE that this post is not intended to replace proper medical advise from a health practitioner, rather it serves as a guide. Do consult your doctor before using any new health products or trying out new health regimens.

While I have general control over my severe eczema because of what I use, which you are advised to read about above. I still do get stubborn outbreaks on some parts of my body like my neck, inner part of elbows on my hand and behind my knees. These outbreaks I recently battled with, most part of this year, they just would not go away no matter what I did. On speaking to newly made friend of mine Lawson, who I had explained my situation to, he suggested I get a stronger strength of any topical steroid, and he gave a few other suggestions. I went around asking, and a pharmacist suggested Clobetasol. It was ridiculously cheap and I told myself it would not work, but it did at a ridiculously fast rate as well, because by the next day, the itch and intensity of inflammation in the said parts had reduced and by the third day the areas which were so dark, started to clear up. Best part is I have rarely had to use the cream at all, which is great since we are advised to avoid long term use of steroid creams. Thanks Lawson for your intervention. You all need to have you doctors as friends. Haha!

Here is a short description of Clobetasol “Temovate (clobetasol propionate) is a topical (for the skin) steroid used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis.”

Eczema patients understand that their condition is even more severe when the skin is dry. I doubt there is an eczema patient without dry skin. There are some formulas out there which were developed to help people with severe skin conditions and provide a good level of relief. My mother found this cream while searching the internet for me of course, she was looking for some eczema remedies that work as well, when she stumbled upon this. A product we later purchased which promised to stop the the itch and prevent irritants from triggering the inflammatory response of the skin, & repair the skin as well. I can say it pretty much fulfills its promise as the cream deeply moisturizes the skin, making itching less intense and appears to begin repairing the skin after a while. I still use this cream but halted in between when I found Clobetasol as I wanted a more rapid response. Overall its a good cream to try and it may just be the perfect eczema remedy that works for you. A google search online and you will find this cream for purchase.

Oatmeal is famous for reducing itch and reliving dry skin conditions. “Colloidal oatmeal baths can help relieve the dry, itchy and irritated skin caused by eczema. You can buy colloidaloatmeal or you can make your own from regular oatmeal. Before adding oatmeal baths to your skin care regimen…”

Turn to oatmeal preparations for you or your toddlers suffering eczema and see how it works for you.

This is quite simple, by research and my own experience I have learned that cleaning up your gut is a way of avoiding health challenges as well as relieving existing ones. It is said, there is some high connection between what happens in our guts and our overall health. When I seem to have an unnecessary eczema outbreak I have observed sometimes that it was due to my inability to eliminate for a few days in the loo. When I take a mild laxative and visit the toilet, I do find some relief, same with when I seem to be getting headaches. Keeping the colon healthy is said to prevent illnesses like cancer, and diabetes. It also relieves some existing conditions you may suffer. A colon cleanse is an effective way to instantly clean your gut of waste you don’t always pass out by regular toilet visits. Suffice to say we all have that extra we never get to eliminate. You can visit a cleansing health center to have colon cleanse intermittently or perform  it yourself at home using an enema kit. you can read more on the post I wrote about TRADITIONAL HEALING METHODS WE ARE FORGETTING.

Again this has to do with what gets into the stomach. Some foods increase the bodies inflammatory response. Eczema patients must avoid food that bloat them. You must learn to observe your own body and how it responds to things around you as well as what you eat. Fruits and veggies mostly nourish the body without causing bloating, consciously eating this means you are taking care of your health. Foods high in fiber also help with bowel movement as well. and you might want to turn to fiber supplements if you are not getting enough from food.
